HENRY STATE BANK'S HISTORY

Historically, the Henry State Bank originated as the Sparland State Bank that was chartered in the 1920's. The Bank was then moved to Henry in 1941. It was first located at the corner of Edward and Second Streets. The current location of 700 Second St was built in 1966 and opened in 1967. Since its establishment in 1941, the Henry State Bank has offered a full range of financial products and services: consumer and business checking accounts, and NOW and Money Market accounts. Long term investment products include passbook savings, certificates of deposit and IRA at competitive rates. Other services include safe deposit boxes, money orders, notary service, license renewals, merchant card services and automatic clearing house origination.

The bank also offers a full line of lending services such as consumer loans, residential real estate loans, commercial real estate loans and all types of agricultural loans. In 2002, the bank partnered with Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago to offer qualifying applicants fixed rate mortgages.

The Henry State Bank was the first bank in Marshall County to install Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs).

In 2005, we launched our Online Banking which offers free online bill pay and free check images right from the convenience of your home.

The bank hold approximately $78 million in financial assets but their biggest assets are the employees and long term relationships it maintains with its customers. The Bank employs 17 full time employees and many of whom were raised in families of the immediate area. Our employees are community minded and volunteer many hours to local service, church and civic organizations.
